Thinking activity on birthday party

 Hello readers,

This blog is a part of post viewing task of the play "the Birthday Party" written by Harold Pinter in 1957 and directed by William Friedkin, a 1968 film in which our Professor Dr.Dilip Barad sir gave us task to interpret the movie. Here is the blog link of the given task task click here

Task with questions and answer starts with here,

Why are two scenes of Lulu omitted from the movie?

Ans. I think director do not want to change the tone of the genre of the play in the movie. "The Birthday Party" is a comedy of menace and it means a dangerous or threatening quality. So, if director show Lulu's scene then it seems somewhat romantic but here, in the movie director shows us a very threatening scene of rape in blackout so this genre keep its quality so two scenes of Lulu omitted from the movie.

Is movie successful in giving us the effect of menace? Where you able to feel it while reading the text?

Ans. yes, the movie giving a successful effect of menace. While we are reading the play at some level it creates that kind of effect but not that much like film does because the audio and visual effects are more effective that reading text. In the movie, we find the effect of menace clearly in the interrogation scene where the number of the question asked and through the loud sound effect and Stanley was sweating in fear and frustration and when Stanley hears about the two strangers he runs in a fear.

Do you feel the effect of lurking danger while viewing the movie? Where you able to feel the same while reading the text?

Ans. Yes, throughout the movie we can find the effect of lurking danger when door knocking and in the interrogation scenes. Furthermore, we can find the lurking danger when Mccain tears news paper in pieces. In the play we can find when we think who drive the car where s/he going and interrogation scene of text.

What do you read in 'newspaper' in the movie? Petey is reading newspaper to Meg, it torn into pieces by McCain, pieces are hidden by Petey in last scene.

Ans. There are various interpretations of the news paper. In the first scene we see that Petey read news paper and Meg doing household work so in this we can say that newspaper stand for intellectual personality and in other way we can say that Petey is more connected with current scenario of the outside world when Meg is limited to the house. Another interpretation is when we see the Mccain torn the news paper into pieces it shows the ill motive of him that he wants to destroy Stanley as newspaper.

Camera is positioned over the head of McCain when he is playing Blind Man's Buff and is positioned at the top with a view of room like a cage (trap) when Stanley is playing it. What interpretations can you give to these positioning of camera?

Ans. Camera is positioned over the head of Mccain when he is playing blind man's buff and view of the camera from the roof of the room like a cage or trap. When Stanley is playing the game, it shows that Stanley can't escape from the trap created by two strangers.

"Pinter restored theater to its basic elements: an enclosed space and unpredictable dialogue, where people are at the mercy of one another and pretense crumbles." (Pinter, Art, Truth & Politics: Excerpts from the 2005 Nobel Lecture). Does this happen in the movie?

Ans. yes, some extent it happens in the movie. Everyone has love and care for each other for instance Meg, lulu and Petey show care for Stanley but at the end when Stanley is in problem no one can helps or even care. So, we can connect this with America and and other countries for example, when many Muslim countries have care and love for other Muslim countries but when America opposes any country like Iran and Iraq then Saudi Arabia can not do anything like Petey, Meg can not do for Stanley because power make them underdog.

How does viewing movie help in better understanding of the play ‘The Birthday Party’ with its typical characteristics (like painteresque, pause, silence, menace, lurking danger)?

Ans.   as per my reading Some one rightly quoted about that an image worth than thousand words, so obviously viewing movie help in better understanding of the play. We can not understand the silence, pause, painteresque, menace and lurking danger through text but we can understand through visual images and pictures. So, camera angle helps us a lot to understand this kind of play.

With which of the following observations you agree:

o “It probably wasn't possible to make a satisfactory film of "The Birthday Party."

o “It's impossible to imagine a better film of Pinter's play than this sensitive, disturbing version directed by William Friedkin”

Ans. yes,  I agree to the second point that

"It's impossible to imagine a better film of Pinter's play than this sensitive, disturbing version directed by William Friedkin"

just,  because it is very loyal to the text and in so many years other directors couldn't not make this kind of movie ever.

If you were director or screenplay writer, what sort of difference would you make in the making of movie?

Ans. If I was director or screenplay of this movie I also make similar movie With using such 3D models in interior design , and of course, I also try to use some Attractive animations which helps to viewers to get good resolution even in night sense sequences.😁

Who would be your choice of actors to play the role of characters?

As per my point of view, I would like to choice,

My choice of actors are:

Stanley- Rajkumar rav

Goldberg- Arjun Kpoor

Mccain- Saif Ali Khan

Lulu- Kubra Sait (Kuku)

Petey- Navasuddin siddqi

Meg- Kirron Khair

💥Thank you💥

Thinking activity on waiting for godot

 Hello readers,

On 24th November 2020 we had a virtual movie screening of the movie "Waiting For Godot" written by Samuel Beckett in which students task is to watch movie and write their understanding of the movie of the given points by the professor. Here is the link of professor's blog click here,

The movie "Waiting for Godot" is directed by Michael Lindsay-Hogg. In this 2001 movie, Barry McGovern and Johnny Murphy played Vladimir and Estragon, where as Lucky and Pozzo were performed by Alan Sandford and Stephan Brennan, respectively.

Here, i am going to give answers of the questions which is given as a task,

Q. What connection do you see in the setting("A country road. A tree. Evening.) of the play and these paintings.

Ans. The setting of the play is may be  inspired by this above mentioned two paintings by Caspar David Friedrich.  painting's title  is 'longing'

Interpretation of  word longing:  The word means , a deep desire for something( for example, salvation). Waiting is also connected with longing. In the painting two person looking towards sunrise and sunset, it is metaphorically stands for bright hope and despair .

Q. 2 The tree is the only important 'thing' in the setting. What is the importance of tree in both acts? Why does Beckett grow a few leaves in Act 2 on the barren tree- The tree has four or five leaves?

Ans. The tree has a symbolic interpretation  in the play. Mainly a tree is symbolically presented in the play when Vladimir and Estragon try to be hebetate like tree.  So, leaves stand for hope and despair. In first scene the tree was destroyed, therefore  we can interpret and connect it with world war-2 because this play written just after war and in second act this tree have leaves so it stand for hope and also we can say it is changing nature.

3) In both acts, evening falls into night and moon rises. How would you like to interpret this 'Coming for night and moon' when actually they are Waiting For Godot?

Ans.  Interpretation of the moon as brightness in the night so, with this frame ,Beckett wants to convey through this moon's brightness in the night ,though this darkness of night there is somewhat hope like the brightness of the moon says, one should stick with the hope for everyday because every day is new day.

4) The director feels the setting with some debris. Can you read any meaning in the contours of debris in the setting of the play?

Ans. The director used debris or a absurd kind of place , something like collapsed for the setting. The influence of the World war-2 in the material world. Therefore, we can say that the meaninglessness of material world that keep on destroying, nothing is permanent in the life.

5) The play begins with the dialogue "Nothing to be done". how does the theme of 'nothingness' recurs in the play?

(Screen shot from virtual movie screening)

Ans.  "Nothing to be done" reflects the idea of "Existentialism"The play starts with this idea of nothingness. Vladimir and Estragon waiting for Godot without knowing that he will come or not, is he exist or not, who is he? unclear and absurd  theme shows the nothingness of the play.

6) Do you agree: "The play (Waiting for Godot), we agreed, was a positive play, not negative, not pessimistic. As I saw it, with my blood and skin and eyes, the philosophy is: 'No matter what- atom bombs, hydrogen bombs, anything- life goes on. You can kill yourself, but you can't kill life."(E.G. Marshal who played Vladimir in original Broadway production 1950s)?

Ans. Yes, I am agree with the point of E.G Marshal that the play waiting for Godot is positive play in the sense of life is goes on we can not stop or kill the time. If we commit suicide it doesn't make any  matter for life. We kill ourselves not the life, it must go on. So, we can say that life is meaningless though we have to live life, this lesson make us positive.

But I also feels such negatives perspective in that play which stopping me to make this play completely positive,
  • This play " Waiting For Godot" is in a way making joke of human life and hope.
  • Of course life is meaningless but waiting for someone with pessimistic way is itself the idea of meaningless waiting.
  • Portraying human bring with hopelessness is a kind of handicapness of mind and body.
  • Philosophy says life is meaningless, and hope is eternal, then what about the sentiments and emotional investment behind every waiting,...….

7) How are the props like hat and boots used in the play? What is the symbolical significance of these props?

Ans. Samuel Beckett used many symbols in this play in which Hat and Boot are interesting symbols. We can say that
  • Hat: Represented the intellectual wearing the hat sudden sparking in thoughts, and  removing the hat is perhaps lost connection with intellectuality.
  •   Boot : Represent lower and physical appearance, anger, lost of hope, materialistic things.

8) Do you think that the obedience of Lucky is extremely irritating and Nauseatic? Even when the master Pozzo is blind, he obediently hands the whip in his hand. Do you think that such a capacity of slavishness is unbelievable?

Ans. Sometimes we want to get chance to get ourselves free from some pre-constructed situation though we can not grab the opportunity because we are habituated with that constructed situation.

To think beyond it is mainly impossible. Lucky knows well that his master has no power to see anything yet he do not go away from him and serving him without the question of real freedom.

"The dumbness of Lucky is perhaps he is not habituated to make his another identity, he may thought what I will be Instead of being slave, what is my identity"

It is unbelievable as rational thinker but those who living sheeple's kind of life, they can be driven with the flow without questioning.

9) Who according to you is Godot? God? An object of desire? Death? Goal? Success? or...

Ans. This play can interpret in many ways,  We can interpret this play with every given points. But, according to me Godot is God because when we read the dialogue between boy and Vladimir that time Vladimir asked to the boy that Godot is white? then the boy said yes, so we can say that they talk about Christ. Another interpretation is based on political reading in which we can say that Godot means Hitler because when Vladimir asked to the boy that he is beating or not? then boy replied yes. So, we can connect with the Hitler that he was beating many countries in world war-2.

Another way of looking this question,

lets see every point step by step,

When we think Godot as God?:  The idea of god is something very obscure with the realities. Does god is
  •  real,
  • exists,
  • white-black,
  • merciful,
  • human-animal,
  • savior
When we think Godot as object of desire?:
The desire of god is always connects with the desire of
  • Salvation and ,
  • Desire of to be a grate human,
  • Or powerful too.
  • Make free our self from all hardship of life.
When we think God as Death, Goal, success?
Death can be considered as a salvation of life from all hardship, As a goal or a success, The idea of god is something like achievement, and with that ruling is the major or vide concern as success of getting god, particularly in this success and goal is something to get god to make free people.

10) "The subject of the play is not Godot but 'waiting' (Esslin, A search for the self). Do you agree? How can you justify your answer?

Ans. Yes, I agree with the Esslin's point of view in 'A search for the self' that the subject and the main theme of the play is 'waiting' not the Godot. We can see that in the play nothing happen except the meaningless waiting. there is  no one come and go, all the characters only waiting for someone but no one come. So, we can say the heart of the play is waiting not Godot.

11) Do you think plays like this can better be 'read' than 'viewed' as it requires a lot of thinking on the part of readers, while viewing, the torrent of dialogues does not give ample time and space to 'think'? Or is it that the audio- visuals help in better understanding of the play?

Ans. According to my point of view the reading and viewing both can be beneficial and required of the play.

Only Visuals of movie:

if you only watch the movie then it can be bore . Because it has the continuous dialogues and less action. For the understanding of the deeper philosophy one has to read the play.

 Only Readings of the play:

Only reading also makes you boring because you will not be able to imagine Vladimir and Estragon and their useless action.

Therefore, We have to done both the things in the class which enriched our understanding of the play.

12) Which of the following sequence you liked the most:

  •  Vladimir-Estragon killing time in questions and conversation while waiting
  • Pozzo-Lucky episode in both acts
  • Conversation of Vladimir with the boy
Ans. I liked the conversation of Vladimir with the boy, while the conversation happens I  feel the energy and curiosity in the play because that boy was the messenger of Godot and also that boy frightened Vladimir for telling about Godot. So, first conversation with the boy was the hope for Vladimir and second conversation somewhat despair and revealed Vladimir's selfishness.

13)  Did you feel the effect of existential crisis or meaninglessness of human existence in the irrational and indifference Universe during screening of the movie? Where and when exactly that feeling was felt, if ever it was?

Ans. yes, I feel the effect of Existential crisis or meaninglessness of human existence in the irrational and indifference Universe,

Firstly, in Vladimir and Boy's conversation,

when Vladimir asked to the boy about Godot and he asked that Godot will come today or not?
That time boy replied that Godot will come tomorrow but Godot never come throughout the play so we can find the meaningless waiting for Godot.

Secondly, The scene of Pozzo and Lucky

Another meaninglessness we find in the character of Lucky that when his master go blind though he doing slavery like sheeple.

Hence, we can say that life is meaningless for Lucky because they even don't think about freedom.

14)  Vladimir and Estragon talks about ‘hanging’ themselves and commit suicide, but they do not do so. How do you read this idea of suicide in Existentialism?

Ans.  The "suicide is an art in existentialism"  We watched one of the video it talks about the philosophical suicide but in the play Vladimir is a strong believer of Christianity and suicide is the sin in Christianity and we also can say that Estragon and Vladimir avoid suicide because they have hope for Godot.

Concept of Philosophical Suicide:

Living in the idea of god and believing in it, rather being rationalconsider the truth of religion as the truth of mine, is called Philosophical suicide, Here, our characters are believer of Christianity, so they like to live in sate of god with the weapon of Hope.

15) Can we do any political reading of the play if we see European nations represented by the 'names' of the characters (Vladimir - Russia; Estragon - France; Pozzo - Italy and Lucky - England)? What interpretation can be inferred from the play written just after World War II? Which country stands for 'Godot'?

So far we know that Pozzo and Lucky [master and slave] are concerned, we have to remember that Beckett was a disciple of Joyce and that Joyce hated England. Beckett meant Pozzo to be England, and Lucky to be Ireland." (Bert Lahr who played Estragon in Broadway production). Does this reading make any sense? Why? How? What?

Ans. Yes, we can interpret the political reading in which
  • Vladimir stand for Russia
  • Pozzo stands for Italy,
  • Lucky stand for England and
  •                       Estragon stand for France.
Therefore, we can connect this to the world war in which these all countries destroyed by Godot means Germany that is why Vladimir asked to the boy that is Godot beating? Then boy replied yes. So we connect Godot with Germany means Hitler, who destroyed many countries and killed thousands of people. And other interpretation of Pozzo and Lucky master and slave in which we connect Pozzo with England and Lucky with Ireland, so in this matter Ireland struggling a lot with England and recently we have seen Brexit pact.

16) The more the things change, the more it remains similar. There seems to have no change in Act I and Act II of the play. Even the conversation between Vladimir and the Boy sounds almost similar. But there is one major change. In Act I, in reply to Boy;s question, Vladimir says:

"BOY: What am I to tell Mr. Godot, Sir?
VLADIMIR:
Tell him . . . (he hesitates) . . . tell him you saw us. (Pause.) You did see us, didn't you?
How does this conversation go in Act II? Is there any change in seeming similar situation and conversation? If so, what is it? What does it signify?

Ans. Yes, there is change in both acts.
 Act:1

Vladimir told to the boy that tell Godot that you saw us. So, here Vladimir talked about both Vladimir and Estragon.
Act:2

While Vladimir told the boy that tell Godot that you saw me, so here Vladimir talked about his self he does not mention the name of Estragon. So, in act 2 we can see Vladimir is seems selfish.

Thank you

Existentialism

Hello, reader's here I'm sharing my views regarding flint learning activity given by honorable prof Dilip Barad sir, to expand our critical thinking skills in much clearer way, so lets began.....

First we will see about Flint learning,

"Flint is an extremely user friendly platform, it serves all our academic and administrative needs. Students from a urban as well as semi urban areas are able to use it easily"

Philosophical things existing and begin with each thinking subject individual subject, show the philosophical thinking of existentialism main forces on passion freedom and individualism.

Existentialism easy note which only arise questions, it also gives the fact of things , existentialism denotes that  absurdity and  aggravation is because people believing in god which cal philosophical suicide, andhadhun believing in a god or not but believing in social constructions which is harmful for someone else is called absence of knowledge which becomes the strong force of having question of existence.

Video 1( Questions)

1) Presence of Social constructions  is a strong force of having question of existence?

2) Do believing in God is called philosophical suicide?

3) How suicide can ultimate end of work of art?

Video 2

                       Learning Out come:

In video two I get to know about the myth of Sisyphus as well as philosophical suicide and  the observed reasoning of life says that that is the ultimate and of life but suicide is an individual act.

World is illusion in I want a divorce all set norms of life then absurdity is the only connection with death. A very important question about that does absurdity leads towards Hope or suicide? Sudha hope in life is like voice process.

Video 2 ( Questions)

1) if life is absurd, and suicide is ultimate end of life, it's all related with psychology of mind of individuals, the question is what is the relationship of psychology and existentialism?

2) Does the absurdity leads towards hope aur suicide?

3)  World is illation, I want a divorce...."Death is my Mistress" ,  can we study this metaphor of Mistress as an illusion of living life\]

Video 3

Learning Out come:

" Feelings is nothing more than feelings"

Question is that what is observed and how it is occurred, in video 3 we come to know that only the connection of man's emotion with this world is the main force of rising absurdity in life.

People try to escape from this absurdity because other one can live in a physical suicide on a physical suicide, individual state of mind needs to stay her or himself pertinent state of individualism, Sudha question of God and it is stand in front of us that one can be rational and can free from the all kind of structures of society.

Video 3

1) what is the relationship between social construction of absurd life and Albert camus is method of escapism from absurd life?

2) Does existentialism creates a hegemony of life that either one can live in the state of physical suicide or philosophical suicide?

Video 4

Learning Out come:

In in this video the very well known concept of dadaism and Nihilism denotes idea of life. so the basic meaning of dadaism is a quest for change or creation is the primary goal of the daizam and the IT arises the question over exist existence and objects which is already exist.

today is I'm questions like who you are and what others are imposed value of which others are created for you, today is a means one should have free of everything in own value making out of a Venturi free from all traditions of values.

Video 4

1) dadaism is a quest for change and creation is the primary goal dadaism ,then it would be the recreation of things, right?

2) is my question destroying the all traditional values?

3) Do belive in God is a way to make detachment from world?

4) What would be the existence of Detached man/women?

Video 5

Learning Out come:

in this video we can see there exist racialism is a very gloomy philosophy then an anxiety disappear absurdity can take place and we never faced this argument in the arena of existentialism.

Existentialism works on the idea of what gives us ultimate happiness and get free from all negative thoughts life + anxiety it means that live in the very idea of God and start believing in truth what is the only truth for you is a kind of happiness existentialism ask.

Video 5

1)  The aggressive thoght of existentialism is a result of emptiness of mind?

2) Our proved Existence gives us the ultimate happiness and make us free from all Negetive thoughts on quest on self?

3) How existentialism can rescue and cure people from gloomy absurdity and emptiness of life?

Video 6

Learning Out come:

Many people say existentialism and Nihilism are the same thing, but actually not very meaning of nihilism is that something which is loss of individuality.

wool philosophical subject can be protected as an effort to promote subjectivity . Nihilism is the highest values and evaluate them self and all the could fight to evaluate of values.

Nihilism is a concept of passively accept the life, also give the new concept that responsibility to fight against suicide call rebellion.

Video 7

1) "Human all to Human" what is the proper perspective regarding this statement by Nietzsche?

2) Existentialism is only recognized the unsolved confusion of human being, then the only purpose of Existentialism is to make uncomfortable with current situation and raises the question of being?

3) Existentialism helps to remove burden of massive unsolved problems?

Video 8

Learning Out come:

the clear concept of existentialism is that we do not need to believe in the constructions and rule we have own disciplines and rules social constructions and already Seth rules don't it has the universal morality which leads that governs all of us.

In this video I get know very interesting concept and I am very impressed with it that it is "Ubermensche" which is connected with what's good and what's bad for example Superman have Jayate universal morality in his personality so he or she are running life with the moral purpose and using their powers in ethical way.

Video 8

1)  we don't need to believe in constructive rule of society , with this context how we can see the idea of discipline through Existentialist perspective?

2) What is "Ubermensche"?

3) Existentialism is a subject of individuality wherein the superheroes have a universal morality so what's the existing state of comman to super man in context of Liberty?

Video 9

Learning Out come:

so in the final video existentialism appeals to our intellect but it also has a widely effect a work with the poetic side, it is a kind of quest between good or bad for to be or not to be in a general sense we can say that it is a fight between mind and heart of a person.

Turn on the concept of about Holism , which I like the much is that this particular method of studying anything or any part of any literary work with the full study of each and every part of any particular work of art for example if you're going to study about universe or for human body with the concept of Holism we need to study this topics in very deeply with each and every part.

Video 9

1) "It appeals to my intellect but it also has a widely Evocative mytho- poetic side" with this sentence how we study the sentence from "Hamlet" -"To Be or not to be" ?

2) The universe is much more unknown part of human life we are tempting towards universe because we want to know what we lack (of knowledge) , can human being can study universe with the lens of Holism?

3) What is "Strategic Iraverence" how it is connected with sense of Rebellion?

Video 10

Learning Out come:

show the last video which gives a very clear cut idea of existentialism is that what gives life meaning, what is the meaning of life what is the purpose of life, existentialist every meaningful thing is a meaningless here we see  the concept of nihilism, connected with the belief of ultimate meaningless of life but one more thing I would like to clear is that exist racialism is not at all atheism.

Atheism and existentialism easy no way interesting things itself. In this particular last video I like the theory of theology which denotes that God made the universe or a world with the purpose of mind but I still don't understand how to study the theology with the perspective of existentialism.

so now it's time to ask questions regarding this video so here is my questions,

Video 10

1)  How existence precedes the essence of meaning?

2) Is Teleology is being made with the set of norms by society? .....is it rather philosophical term?

3) If Teleology is more philosophical and intellectual teen then can we say that it whould be the next step of atheism?

Samuel Barclay Beckett's documentary  on " Breath..."

Here ,I am going  to Share my view on following topics, Samuel Barclay Beckett's documentary  on " Breath..." in form of PowerPoint presentation made by me( Tamsa Pandya) So let's start our journey of learning together...

This task is given by Prof. Dilip Barad Sir for better understanding absurdity and ridiculousness into the Beckett's play. as we are now studying MA sem-3 and our pertinent unit " Waiting for Godot" is an absurd play, so after watching and analyzing this documentary we will get more clear idea about absurd play and how to study absurd plays,  So here I put link of task which given by Prof. Dilip Barad sir, an Here is the blog by our prof,

https://dilipbarad.blogspot.com/2014/09/interpretation-challenge-breath.html

Samuel Barclay Beckett's journey of life between 13 April 1906 to 22 December 1989. He was an Irish novelist, playwright, short story writer, theater director, poet, and literary translator. A resident of Paris for most of his adult life and he wrote in both English and French languages.

Beckett's work offers a bleak, tragicomic outlook on human existence, often coupled with black comedy and gallows humor, and became increasingly minimalist in his later career. He is considered one of the last modernist writers and one of the key figures in what Martin Esslin called the "Theatre of the Absurd."

Here is my PowerPoint presentation on particular activity,

The script of the play:-

1. Faint light on stage littered with miscellaneous rubbish. Hold about five seconds.

2. Faint brief cry and immediately inspiration and slow increase of light together reaching maximum - together in about ten seconds. Silence and hold for about five seconds.

3. Expiration and slow decrease of light together reaching minimum together (light as in 1) in about ten seconds and immediately cry as before. Silence and hold about five seconds.

According to this script i try to justify this documentary along with justification of symbols and various point of view.

Here, I am sharing my one reflective view through one video , our task was to make a video with taking help of materialistic things and then interoperate in to our words, but i have already done my PowerPoint presentation on it, so this is one more activity which  i like to do, as an experiment with creativity,

my hypothesis is that with this practical video i can explain the very idea of existentialism in more clear way,

My Interpretation of  video,

Here i took one character who is badly beaten by man in patriarchal society,  with the first look of this video we won't find any clues of considering this  video as academic course, but it has deep meaning of  absurd state of mind, what creates a an absurdity in life? many factors are there, but what important is that how and which ways we are try to tackle everything.

The character in video is now at the condition of making suicide, Her Hopelessness, disappointment towards life is now no more much live...so this practical video is denoting the pre-condition of anyone's absurd individual state of mind.

is she going to commit  suicide, or she is died already?

What is the physical and mental state of her mind and body?

she will rebel?

she will find her quest for existence of be happy?

after that incident will she able to make herself free from all?

What's about her freedom?

Philosophical suicide and physical suicide,

After watching this video we will definitely understand the pre-condition of absurd mind, now we need to interpret that how we can connects this ideas with Absurdity and existentialism, the uncomfortable, unexpected, embarrassing kind of situation  creates Absurdity in life and mind, it also arise the questions of Existence, way i am here, what i am doing, why i am doing, what will be the result etc.,

This uncomfortable situations blocking the ways of freedom and intellectuality, this mess impact one's mind hugely and leads towards physical death, the character would  choose this also or she can make believe in the universal force of savior( god, religion) it call philosophical death.

If we talk about the very idea of suicide then there should be the freedom of  choice and expression are there, existentialists  are very renowned thinkers they believe in freedom of actins and expression.

the same way i am using this freedom of expression through making creative videos and all...😊😃

In the documentary of " Breath" by Samuel buckett we find that breath is most important, rather then materialist things or other how we can breath in uncomfortable situation is more vital then anything, the prevention of breath is crucial .

Anyone's suicide can be studied as an theory of physical or philosophical suicide, with the perspective existentialism , because it has a questions on absurdity, questions for self. existentialists  are believer of freedom and individual value.  So, al last the character can choose either her life as being valued herself, or can live in a unconscious  state of mind where no questions of self-existence will rise.

In this video i took the symbols of Social construction of female/male mind , female body as a symbol of dominance , patriarchy, male dominant society

What is absurd play?

A term used to characterize the work of a number of European and American dramatists of the 1950s and early 1960s. As the term suggests, the function of such theatre is to give dramatic expression to the philosophical notion of the ‘absurd’, a notion that had received widespread diffusion following the publication of Camus's essay Le Mythe de Sisyphe in 1942. To define the world as absurd is to recognize its fundamentally indecipherable nature, and this recognition is frequently associated with feelings of loss, purposelessness, and bewilderment. To such feelings, the Theatre of the Absurd gives ample expression, often leaving the observer baffled in the face of disjointed, meaningless, or repetitious dialogues, incomprehensible behaviour, and plots which deny all notion of logical or ‘realistic’ development..

Waiting for Godot” is an absurd play

Waiting for Godot” is an absurd play for not only its plot is loose but its characters are also just mechanical puppets with their incoherent colloquy. And above than all, its theme is unexplained. It is devoid of characterization and motivation. So far as its dialogue technique is concerned, it is purely absurd as there is no witty repartee and pointed dialogue. What a reader or spectator hears is simply the incoherent babbling which does not have any clear and meaningful ideas. Nothing special happens in the play, nor do we observe any significant change in setting. The situation almost remains unchanged and an enigmatic vein runs throughout the play. “Nothing happens, nobody comes … nobody goes, it’s awful!”
